Overall meaning : Then a believing man came running from the furthest end of the city. ‘My people,’ he said, ‘follow these messengers. Follow those who demand no recompense of you for their conveying Allah’s message and are themselves rightly guided. Why should I not worship Allah who has brought me into existence and to whom alone you will all be brought back?! Should I worship, besides or instead of Him, other gods that would not protect me from harm, if the All-Compassionate God intends it for me, nor will they save me from it?! Surely in that case I should be in manifest error. I believe in your Lord, so listen to me.’
He was told, after his people had killed him, ‘Enter Paradise.’ He said, ‘If only my people knew that my Lord has forgiven me and highly honoured me by admitting me into His Paradise!’
